NAIL ARTISTS PREPARE FOR INDUSTRY’S LARGEST AND MOST PRESTIGIOUS AWARDS

Leading nail artists from around the globe are currently preparing to compete for the industry’s largest and most prestigious title at the Sydney International Spa & Beauty Expo, 30 & 31st August 2008.

Over 100 nail artists from Asia to Oz are expected to compete for the Champion of Champions title and we can expect to see an abundance of creative new nail designs from French Twist Tips to 3D Nail Art!

Last year’s overall winner impressed the judges in the Tips and Overlay, and Sculptures categories and was awarded the Robert Bowrey Pepetual Trophy recognizing the highest standard of talent in Nail Artistry.

“Being awarded the 2007 overall title was such an honor, and I’m looking forward to competing again this year!” says Viv Simmonds, Vivid Nail & Beauty Academy.

“Winning the Nail Awards has helped me not only further my career on an international level, but has also given me the drive to continue striving for better!” she said.

The 2008 Nail Awards are open to all who are interested from students to masters, and are made up of six categories:
-          Tips & Overlay
-          Sculptured Nails
-          Nail Art 3D                              
-          French Twist                               
-          Speed Class                             
-          Flat Nail Art                              
Surrounding the competition floor is the new-look Nail Zone, home to over 50 leading Nail suppliers showcasing the latest innovations in product, equipment and furniture.
As well as the Nail Awards, this year’s Sydney International Spa & Beauty Expo will also feature a ‘must see’ line up of exhibitors and exciting new attractions, including the internationally exclusive Concept Spa, as well as the 2008 Seminar Series and a new interactive Workshop Program.
