MELBOURNE INTERNATIONAL BEAUTY EXPO WRAPS UP
TWO DAYS OF BUZZ, BUSINESS & BEAUTY
Two dazzling days of beauty, business tips and celebrity guest appearances coupled with over 400 quality brands made the Melbourne International Beauty Expo & Expand Your Business Conference, which wrapped up on Sunday 29 April, another must-attend industry event.
Taking place at the Melbourne Exhibition and Convention Centre, the expo showcased a broad cross-section of suppliers to the spa and beauty industry and gave unparalleled access to beauty professionals for those seeking industry insight and business tips.
With the latest trends and techniques on offer, the expo is the best place to gain an insight into the newest technologies whilst being able to access information from a diverse collection of suppliers - before making important business decisions,” said Jan Schake, business owner, Jan Schake Beauty Therapy.
Visitors were treated to a wide-range of beauty tips and access to the latest products and services on offer whilst exhibitors enjoyed a high number and good flow of quality visitors. Nearly half of all attendees were identified as business owners and managers of spas/salons and early reports have indicated a highly successful event that has resulted in a number of quality leads.
New for 2007, the Live Demonstration Stage proved very popular – the areas were buzzing, demonstrating some of the latest techniques and trends hitting the industry. The Nail Bar, catwalk featuring fashion parades and the About Face make-up competitions were other visitor-favourites.
Accompanying the expo was the 2007 Expand Your Business Conference, providing visitors access to the most up to date and relevant industry information. Speakers included Janine Allis, Founder & Executive Chair of Boost Juice Bars, Dr Mei-Heng Tan, Clinical Instructor in Dermatology, Alan Galstians, Director of Natskin and Naomi Gregory, Director, Spa Sessions.
The conference offered an exceptional line-up of speakers and a great variety of topics relevant to our business. The sessions attended were very beneficial, answering many questions and thoughts we had about certain issues, treatments and systems,” said Katrina Steel, Owner of National Balance Day Spa.
Guest appearances from a host of celebrities including; Olympic Silver Medalist and ‘Dancing with the Stars Tatiana Grigorieva, celebrity make-up artist Linda Jefferyes, nine times world champion nail artist Tom Holcomb, and newly crowned Miss World Australia and Mr World Australia were the icing on the cake for this year’s sparkling event.
A huge line-up of quality products, positive feedback and a ‘buzzing’ atmosphere have made this year’s event surpass previous ones. We’re thrilled with how both the Melbourne International Beauty Expo and Expand Your Business Conference were received by all concerned – suffice to say that planning is already underway for next year’s event,” said Lauren Ebbeck, Exhibition Manager, International Beauty Expo.
