leading companies reveal latest trends in spa and skin care

5 Apr 2008

Leading skin care and spa companies Pevonia Botanica, Payot Paris, Dermalogica and Sothys Paris will inform and educate spa and salon owners on the latest trends in cosmetology, male skin products, face mapping and seasonal skin issues when they come together at Australia’s largest beauty industry event - 2007 Sydney International Beauty Expo, 11-12 August, Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre, Darling Harbour.

Featuring an impressive line-up of skin care and spa brands showcasing treatments, trends and techniques at the cutting edge of beauty, the Expo will assist Australia’s beauty professionals in keeping on top of the dynamic, challenging and constantly evolving world of skin care and salon treatments.

Specialising in skin care research and development, Dermalogica, will present its face mapping and skin bar offering beauty professionals techniques in determining skin health and insights to tackling customer skin concerns. This interactive environment, run by Dermalogica’s skin care experts, will pamper visitors with face steamers, steam towels, face and hand treatments, while educating them with a hands-on experience of the full Dermalogica product range.

“Dermalogica’s face mapping and skin bar will arm Dermalogica skin therapists with the tools to provide their clients with a comprehensive skin analysis. Not only will this analysis enable Dermalogica’s therapists to tailor treatments to individual client needs, but it will also provide them with the knowledge to offer customers a detailed home care regimen and results-orientated prescription which, ultimately, increases the customer’s tendency to purchase product post-treatment,” said Suzette Cassie, General Manager, Dermalogica.

With a rise in demand for natural alternatives to products using petrochemicals and artificial colours and fragrances, Pevonia Botanica will present its latest unique signature treatments which combine natural and organic with a clinical edge.

“Pevonia Botanica’s skin care and spa body lines are developed in accordance with the latest scientific breakthroughs in cosmetology, dermatology and consumer demand. Universal Aesthetics will launch ELES, a new mineral make-up line, as well as a full line of health Elixirs and Cosmoproshop accessories for the salon and spa,” said Liane Scior, Director of Marketing and Education, Pevonia Botanica, Universal Aesthetics.

Payot Paris, known for its spa and salon treatments, will assist beauty professionals in embracing the growing demand for male skin products. Payot Paris will showcase the Payot Homme Optimale collection, recently developed to service the ever-growing men’s market for retail and in-salon skin products.

“The Payot Homme Optimale collection was developed to meet the huge demand received from dedicated Payot stockists, to target the rapidly growing men’s skincare market with a product that the industry knows and trusts. The seven item collection includes a deep cleansing gel, soothing after shave balm, refreshing eye contour cream, energising moisturising gel, regeneration emulsion and 24 hour deodorant. It offers males a great way to relax, and furthermore, caters to the major trend in ‘his and her’ treatments which is on the rise among accommodation and conference facilities offering spa treatments,” said Clive Smith, Managing Director (Australia), Payot Paris.

Sothys Paris will also be on board with innovative technologies to combat the increasing trend in seasonal skin issues. Sothys Paris will showcase their new Seasonal Professional treatment - the first of Sothy’s Eco-Cosmetic range - designed as an intensive in-salon treatment focusing on formulations that change depending on the season and its skin-affecting factors.

“Eco-Cosmetics are the next great wave in the cosmetic industry. Sothy’s will lead this trend by showcasing their unique Seasonal Professional treatment designed for Spring skin concerns. The first of two yearly seasonal treatments, the Spring range comprises delicious melon and mint extracts. Also on show will be Sothys’ unique Spring-Summer make-up collection,” said Sandi Daley, Public Relations Manager, Sothys Paris.
